6:15 : I open my eyes. “Hum..daylight, what’s the time?” I grab my mobile and see that I forgot to put the alarm on, but luckily I still get 15mn to lie in bed.
6:30 : Drag myself outta bed and start reading the menu lying on the bench. I call the room service and order my breakfast, 1 poha (breakfast meal made of flattened rice) and 1 chaha (tea). The guy at the other end says “7 o’clock”, I say “Perfect” and go for my shower.
7:00 : I’m ready and waiting for my breakfast.
7:10 : I’m still ready and still waiting for my breakfast.
7:20 : I’m still waiting and getting annoyed because my collegue is supposed to come and pick me up at 7:30. I try and get one of the staff and ask him if my breakfast is going to be ready before noon, but it’s useless because he hardly speaks any English and thinks I want to order breakfast. I quit. I don’t want to come back in the afternoon and find 2 cold breakfasts lying on my table… I go back to my room and lie on my bed (What else can I do?)
7:35 : Knock on the door, breakfast is here! I eat it up as fast as I can, knowing my collegue will be here any time.
7:47 : Breakfast has found the way to my stomach, but nobody’s here. I call my collegue, she says she’ll be here in 5minutes.
8:00 : There she is. I get in the rickshaw. She tells me the rickshaw driver was late to pick her up.
8:30 : We arrive in the village, but the shepherds aren’t here, they’re feeding the lambs. We sit down and wait (and get a chaha from the shepherd’s wife)
It’s past 9:30 when we finally start the interviews…-- Please remind me, what was all the rush about this morning??!?
